Flexee simulations run in the browser and are used by universities, corporate training programs, and government training organizations. Security, privacy, and institutional compliance are built in from the start. Here's how we approach them.
Foundations we build on.
Encryption in transit and at rest.
All data transferred between browsers and Flexee servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS. Data stored in Flexee databases is encrypted at rest.
Access controls.
Student data is scoped to the courses and simulations students are enrolled in. Faculty data is scoped to the courses and simulations they teach. Administrative access is limited to authorized institutional administrators.
No sale or sharing of student data.
Flexee does not sell student data. Student decisions, simulation activity, and performance data belong to the institution and the students. We use aggregated, anonymized data to improve the platform.
Single sign-on and LMS integration.
For institutional licenses, Flexee supports single sign-on integration with common identity providers and LMS integration for common learning management systems. Available during deployment planning.
Data retention and deletion.
Your institution's data retention policies apply to the data you send us. Student and course data is stored only for the length of the simulation, and we can return it to the institution before it's deleted.
Ongoing security review.
Flexee's security posture is reviewed on an ongoing basis, and updated documentation is available for institutional security reviews. Talk to Chuck to request current documentation for your institutional review process.

Flexee is designed to work within the compliance frameworks universities and educational institutions operate under, including FERPA in the United States and equivalent regulations in other jurisdictions. Specific compliance documentation for your institution's security and privacy review is available on request.

AI advisors and student data.
Students talk with AI advisors as part of every Flexee simulation. Student data, including those conversations, isn't used to train AI models and isn't kept after the simulation ends.
