We're accepting manuscripts now for every Flexee simulation, including the ones still in development. Submissions are rolling, and we aim to send a first review within 15 days.

Dr. Vikram Sethi, a professor of MIS at Wright State University's Raj Soin College of Business with more than 50 published papers, is the inaugural editor of Five Zero Books. He wrote the first title in the series himself: Analysis and Design of Information Systems, a twelve-chapter book that pairs with Flexee Systems Analysis and Design Simulation.
He also edits Field Notes Journal, Flexee's journal on AI-driven business innovation.
A book built for one simulation.
A general textbook has to work for any course and any instructor, so it runs long. A Five Zero Book has one job: give students the ideas they need for a specific Flexee simulation. The simulation supplies the case, the stakes, and the pressure of deciding with incomplete information, so the book can stay short and focused.

Every title follows the same shape.
Every Five Zero Book uses the same structure, so faculty and students know what to expect from any title in the series. We call it the Five Zero format, and every manuscript follows it.
Chapter 1 is a lighter opening. Chapters 2 through 12 each fall between 2,100 and 2,550 words.
Every manuscript must reflect a scholar's judgment, expressed with whatever tools helped them think it through.
AI assistance is welcome for research, drafting, and working through a difficult section. AI-authored manuscripts are not accepted. Tell us how you used AI when you submit. What matters is that the judgment on the page is yours.

Human reviewers spend their time on manuscripts that already fit the format and the simulation.

An AI review checks the format and the fit with your simulation. If the manuscript doesn't fit yet, you get specific feedback and can revise and resubmit.

A human reviewer judges whether the book teaches well, whether the examples work, and whether a scholar in the field would trust it.
This year's call is open to every simulation.
Each spine below is a Flexee simulation waiting for its book. Submissions are rolling, with no deadline, and new simulations join the call as they arrive.

What do I send?

Do I need to teach with Flexee already?
No. You need expertise in the subject a simulation covers and a willingness to write to the format. Knowing the simulation helps, and we'll walk you through it before you start.
Can I use AI to help write it?
Yes, for research, drafting, or a difficult section. Tell us how you used it, and make sure the finished manuscript reflects your own judgment.
What if my manuscript doesn't fit the format?
You'll get specific feedback on where it differs, whether that's word count, chapter balance, figures, or fit with the simulation, and you can revise and resubmit.
Is there a deadline?
No. Submissions are rolling. Send your manuscript when it's ready.
Do authors get paid?
Yes. Authors receive a royalty. We discuss specific terms directly once a manuscript passes review.
Can I talk to someone before I start writing?
Yes. Email the editor at editor@flexee.org. You don't need a finished manuscript, and an outline is a good place to start.
